ASRĀ® Joins Real Estate Apprentice® Foundation As Sponsor

Goal to Improve Home Selling Skills

ALISO VIEJO, CA, February 28, 2006 – Today the Real Estate Apprentice Foundation proudly announced that the Seller Agency Council was its newest sponsorship addition to the Rookie Grant Program. According to Joe Kennedy, Chief Operating Officer of the Seller Agency Council, “The Real Estate Apprentice Grant Program is an invaluable asset to the real estate industry. We are delighted to be able to contribute and hope that our sponsorship will help new rookie agents learn how to better serve home sellers.”

Traditionally real estate agents have represented the real estate seller. Then in the late 80's and early 90's, the new wave was pioneered and the real estate industry started placing a huge emphasis on real estate buyer representation in real estate brokerage transactions, rather than the seller.   As a result, home-buying consumers were sensitized to the benefits of a buyer's agent including services such as a home buyer's right to full and equal representation and service. This had many people feeling that the real estate seller's side of the transaction was no longer being well represented.  In the early 2000's a renewed interest developed and a new emphasis was placed on seller representation in the brokerage transaction and the Accredited Seller Representative® (ASR®) course and designation was created.

The Seller Agency Council is the 19th national sponsor to throw its support behind The Foundation in helping new real estate licensees become more successful. Sponsors include: First American Residential Group, Hobbs/Herder, RealtyU, iSucceed, eNeighborhoods, McLean International, Thomson SouthWestern, Calculated Industries, CreateAPlan, Real Estate Simulator, ExpressCopy, The Real Estate CyberSpace Society, RIS Media, Broker Agent News, Saris Technologies, VisualTour, The Real Estate Professionals Society and CourseDates.com

The Seller Agency Council will be providing rookie agents, at no cost, an opportunity to obtain the sought-after ASR® designation, which provides practical applications, direction and guidance in dealing with today’s changing and increasingly more knowledgeable Home Seller. This two-day program deals with Meeting the Expectations of Today’s Seller, Characteristics of the Market Area Specialist, Marketing Techniques, The Pursuit of the Saleable Listing, The Listing Presentation, The Process for Turning “For Sale” into “Sold”, Effective Positioning of the Seller’s Position, Negotiating and Inspection Process and Managing the Transaction.
