National Real Estate Franchise Keller Williams Snatches Up Real Estate Apprentice® Winner

Aliso Viejo, CA. May 3rd, 2005 – Kendra Shearer, winner of the Grand Prize Award for Season I of the Real Estate Apprentice Grant competition announced today that she has signed a contract to join Keller Williams Realty of Marietta Georgia. “I am thrilled to have Kendra join us said KW Team Leader Lynn Larson, “I am so impressed with her business plan and am looking forward to helping her maximize her benefits gained through the Real Estate Apprentice Grant.”

When Kendra was asked why she had chosen Keller Williams she replied: “The core values of the organization and strong focus on team work and training were two issues that were critical for me to build this business”. Mrs. Shearer continued by commenting that: Keller William’s will also help empower her to better serve the senior’s market. According to Kendra, Keller William’s philosophy includes: Building careers worth having, businesses worth owning and lives worth living. The vision is to be the Company of choice for a new generation of real estate agents and owners; with core values of God, family, then business. Larson responded by saying; “We are truly blessed to have Kendra and she already feels like part of the family.”

Founded in 1983, Keller Williams® Realty Inc. is an international real estate company with 464 offices located across the U.S. and Canada. Keller Williams began franchising its offices in 1991, and followed with years of strong growth and success. Keller Williams is the fifth-largest real estate franchiser in North America. The company has succeeded by treating its 42,691 associates as partners and shares its knowledge, policy control, and company profits on a system-wide basis. Keller Williams’ revenues in 2004 were in excess of $1.3 billion, profit sharing in 2004 was over $28 million and the average annual agent growth rate is 52%.

According to Mrs. Shearer, Keller William’s goal is to be in 500 market centers, with 50,000 agents and the production of 5,000 millionaires. Kendra also said that Keller William’s belief system was another factor, which influenced her decision. That system includes: Win-Win or no deal; Integrity; Commitment in all things; Communication- seek first to understand; Creativity- ideas before results; Teamwork- together everyone achieves more; Trust starts with honesty; and Success which is gaining results through people. Mrs. Shearer will be working from the one-year-old Keller William’s office located at 2651 Dallas Highway, Marietta, Georgia. This office recently won the Home Run Launch Award for Keller Williams Realty International for 2004 as they celebrated their first full year. When the office opened in May of 2003 it had 50 agents. By June 2003 they had 62 agents. This office has been profitable every single month since opening with last year’s total profits just under $800,000. Last year’s profit sharing with their agents was $362,415, and it is here where the agents are truly her partners, said Ms. Larson.

According to the Foundation’s Deputy Executive Director, Martin Oliver Ph.D., “A DVD featuring Kendra Shearer and the Real Estate Apprentice story, is being released next week. The video was shot live on location in Atlanta and provides information on the application process, the Apprentice Grant philosophy, sponsor details, and how new agents and real estate companies can get involved.

The Real Estate Apprentice Grant Program is open to all new real estate students that are US or Canadian citizens or legal residents that have taken or will be taking a real estate licensing course or who became licensed as a new agent during the six month grant season period (January 1st to June 30th 2005) or 90 days preceding this period. The competition is judged on the basis of answers to essay questions, which demonstrate: Salesmanship and communication skills, entrepreneurial spirit, integrity, creativity, and uniqueness.
