Career Ed Systems and Middleton Boast Next 2 Apprentice Finalists

Wyatt and Beamon Among Top 10 Best New Rookies

The third and fourth Real Estate Apprentice™ finalists are Kristi Beamon and Kathleen “Katie” Wyatt. Both Beamon and Wyatt will receive $5,000 worth of real estate education products, education, books and services from the Foundation, courtesy of the great companies that sponsor the only national grant competition program helping new agents be more successful.

These two finalists took their licensing courses at Middleton Real Estate Training in Southfield, Michigan and Career Education Systems of Wichita, Kansas, both part of the RealtyU® network of real estate schools. Grants are sponsored by First American Residential Group, Hobbs Herder Advertising & Design, iSucceed Online Real Estate Mentoring, Success Strategies Institute, McLean International, Thomson Learning, Calculated Industries, The Real Estate CyberSpace Society, Broker Agent News, RIS Media and RealtyU® .

Dr. Martin Oliver, Deputy Executive Director of the Apprentice Foundation asked Kristi, who started full time as an agent with Coldwell Banker Schweitzer in August, what she thought about being a Real Estate Apprentice finalist. “I look at my previous educational and professional pursuits as fitting jointly with going to real estate school and it will lay the foundation for my career as a successful agent. I will be able to go further, and do more than I would without these new resources. The Apprentice Foundation grant program affords me information, insight and contacts that not all other agents have,” she said.

Darwin Conley, Manager of Career Development, Training and Coaching for Coldwell Banker Schweitzer, described Kristi as “having cognitive skills with the highest scores that I have ever seen come through the company in the last two years. Her people and communication skills are also about as high as they could be. With her selection as a Finalist for the Real Estate Apprentice, the tools that she is winning will be a huge complement to her existing skills. I especially like Kristi’s drive, her need for achievement and her lofty goal of achieving a first year income of $150,000. What I know of Kristi during the last 2-3 weeks of working with her is that she absolutely has the ability to make that happen. The more that she can receive in terms of Apprentice tools, training and services the more likely that goal will become a reality. I perceive that Kristi is one of our top candidates to earn the Rookie of The Year Award within our company of about 600 Coldwell Banker Schweitzer agents. “

Kristi BeamonKristi Beamon is a native of Michigan. She possesses a BA in Communications from Wayne State University in Detroit and an MBA in Finance from the University of Notre Dame. Ms. Beamon entered the real estate profession as a means of creating a successful business endeavor to leave for future generations while creating opportunities to revitalize communities. Kristi has five years of Automotive Manufacturing Finance and Accounting Experience. Additionally, she has worked in Human Resources for a Big 3 Accounting firm, Operations and Administration for a Non-Profit Professional Women’s Organization and as the owner of several entrepreneurial ventures. In the future Kristi looks forward to the establishment of a scholarship foundation that will stress the importance of focus, planning, higher education and social citizenship in the recipients.

Kathleen WyattKathleen “Katie” Wyatt passed her real estate exam in February this year, then went full time with New Home Marketing in Wichita, Kansas in March. Since then she has already racked up a phenomenal 11 listings and 11 sales. Her sales were not only in new homes but 50% of her transactions included existing homes. Jim Wood, Broker/Owner of New Home Marketing described Katie as: “Awesome personality and very sharp technology skills! Ever since she came into this business she has been on fire. She actually has a civil engineering background, which is unusual but I believe that the Real Estate Apprentice Grant Program has kindled a fire in her to succeed”. Katie started selling both new and existing homes, and has actually sold a home over the Internet to a California buyer who had never seen the house. According to Wood the Apprentice Program has definitely made Katie look at real estate in a much more professional and career oriented way.

Katie, who has completed a five year maintenance electrician apprenticeship in nuclear power, reacted to her selection as a Finalist by saying: “I think that the Real Estate Apprentice Grant is a wonderful program and feel very blessed to be selected. The Grant would be a wonderful tool for all new people entering the real estate industry. Simply by applying for the Grant and writing the essays I was forced to think about what my goals, skills and life experiences. Being involved with the Apprentice program gave me an opportunity to ask others for help and guidance. I feel as if I have lived my life to just come to this point,“ she said.

Beamon and Wyatt are the third and fourth of 10 Grant Finalists that are being announced this week. Another two are being announced each day the rest of this week and on Wednesday August 31st the Grand Prize Grant Winner will be revealed. Finalists each receive a grant worth $5,000 and the overall winner will receive $75,000 of real estate products and services.

According to Dr. Oliver, Season III of the Real Estate Apprentice competition opened July 1st, 2005 and will run through December 31st, 2005.
