Formation of the Real Estate Apprentice Foundation

Aliso Viejo, Calif. July 1st, 2004 – The formation of The Real Estate Apprenticeä Foundation was announced earlier this week during the Real Estate Educators Association annual real estate convention in San Antonio, Texas.

The goal of the Foundation is the creation of a national program to assist new licensed agents entering the real estate industry, to overcome their fears and obstacles and to facilitate them to become top producing real estate agents by providing quality guidance, education, products and services to help guide them on a successful fast track to profitability.

According to well known industry leader and Foundation Executive Director Stefan Swanepoel, “the grant program is designed to spotlight the importance of real estate apprenticeships for the public good, the enhancement and betterment of the U.S. residential real estate brokerage industry and to raise the standards and levels of professionalism for real estate agents in general.”

Managing The Foundation on a daily basis will be Dr. Martin Oliver, the Foundation’s Deputy Executive Director. In an interview with Dr. Oliver he announced that participation is open to all US/Canadian citizens or legal residents who have taken a real estate licensing course through a recognized real estate school such as RealtyU®. As the nation’s largest network of real estate schools and colleges training over 230,000 agents every year RealtyU has agreed to be major sponsor of the Foundation.

Beginning July 1st, anew licensees will be able to obtain more details as well as apply for the Grant at any of the following Schools and locations.

Dr. Oliver added, that “from the beginning of world history, the concept of apprenticeship has been the most familiar and successful tool known to man for training people. Although the need for a specialized personal real estate apprenticeship program has probably existed for years, never has there been anything even close to what applicants are about to discover in this newly released Real Estate Apprenticeä Grant.”

According to Swanepoel, 20 Grants will be awarded annually and finalists will be selected through essays and interviews. They will be judged by a panel of industry leaders, authors, top producers and other key industry professionals.  Various major sponsors have attached their name to the project and the Grant is expected to be the largest-ever selection of real estate education, products and services ever awarded in the real estate brokerage industry to create successful top producing agents. Grants to deserving and fortunate new licensees will be offered with no strings or repayment attached.  The total value of the Grant as well as application forms will be available from The Foundation website effective July 1st.
