REMAX Real Estate Team Donates Domain

Aliso Viejo, Calif.  September 30th, 2004 – The Real Estate Apprentice Foundation announced today that Barry and Beverly Luckenbach, the number one REMAX real estate team in Florida during 2002 and 2003 donated the URL www.RealEstateApprentice.com to The Real Estate Apprentice Foundation.

The Luckenbach Team, REMAX Assured, of Maitland, Florida had originally acquired the www.RealEstateApprentice.com domain with plans of creating a real estate industry spin-off of Donald Trump’s NBC television hit series “The Apprentice.” They were still strategizing the possibilities when they heard of the Real Estate Apprentice Foundation’s real estate grant program for newly licensed real estate entering the industry and were immediately fascinated by the concept. Upon further research they became impressed with The Foundation’s mission and game plan to assist new real estate agents and wanted to do their part. Responding to their gift was Foundation Deputy Executive Director Dr. Martin Oliver who said that the gesture was “another example of Realtors® working together to make a make a tangible difference to the real estate industry. “

When asked about their philanthropic motivations, Barry Luckenbach said, “We are busy people and are ranked as one of the top REMAX teams in the world. We are however are never to busy to notice and get involved with a good cause.”  The Luckenbach Team, which was established in 1995 cares about people and similar to RE/AX International founders Dave and Gail Liniger who have for many years supported many great and worthy projects, we wanted to do the same.  Meanwhile the Luckenbach team is growing another project the started in 1998 called the Guaranteed Purchase Program (GPP) where they are helping people build a new home even if they have not sold or can’t sell their existing house.

The formation of The Real Estate Apprentice Foundation was announced on June 24th, 2004 by Stefan Swanepoel real estate visionary, author and founder of The Foundation. The goal is “to spotlight the importance of real estate apprenticeships for the public good, the enhancement and betterment of the U.S. residential real estate brokerage industry and to raise the standards and levels of professionalism for real estate agents in general” he said.

The Real Estate Apprentice Foundation has committed to grant over a quarter of a million dollars ($250,000.00) annually, the largest amount ever allocated to the betterment of new licensed real estate agents. The Apprentice formally opened its doors for applications on Thursday July 1st and is currently accepting applications for the first season that ends on December 31st, 2004. During this six-month period, ten successful and lucky recipients will qualify to win real estate grants that include education, mentoring, coaching, advertising, technology tools, marketing products and other services. The overall winner, who will also be awarded the title “Real Estate Apprentice,” will receive a grant totaling $75,000 while nine finalists will individually be receiving a grant valued at over $5,000 each. Grants made will not require any form of repayment.
