Aliso Viejo, Calif. August 25th, 2005 – (Part 4 of 5) According to the Real Estate Apprentice Foundation the seventh and eighth Grant Finalists are Californian Priscilla Whiteside and Georgian Robert Ginn. Whiteside is a full time agent with Coldwell Banker Best Realty in Ridgecrest, California and Ginn is a full time agent with Harry Norman, Realtors® in Duluth, Georgia. Both Whiteside and Ginn will receive $5,000 worth of real estate education products, education, books and services from the Foundation, courtesy of the various leading companies that sponsor the only national grant competition program helping new agents become more successful.

These two finalists respectively took their real estate licensing courses at California Brokers Institute and Barney Fletcher RealtyU®, Duluth, Georgia. Grants are sponsored by First American Residential Group, Hobbs Herder Advertising & Design, iSucceed Online Real Estate Mentoring, Success Strategies Institute, McLean International, Thomson Learning, Calculated Industries, The Real Estate CyberSpace Society, Broker Agent News, RIS Media and RealtyU®.

Priscilla Whiteside Priscilla Whiteside is married to Brian Whiteside, a U.S. Navy F18 pilot who served in Afghanistan and Iraq. Priscilla completed her MBA with a Master’s Thesis project in the creation of a non-profit organization to assist military families in housing and other needs. When asked to describe and explain the five top qualities that can enable a person to achieve success in the real estate industry, she said: "Impeccable honesty allows people to rely on anything one says; Diligence: when marketing a property, acquiring all relevant information and becoming thoroughly familiar it; High energy is necessary to maintain a positive attitude through the long hours and difficult situations often encountered; Motivation steps in when even high energy fails. Whether it comes from a sense of duty to a client or to children putting them through college, a job well done is a terrific satisfaction; Finally, The ability to communicate with others enables one to understand the needs and wishes of clients and to help them grasp the possibilities."

Priscilla responded to the news of winning a Finalists position by saying: “I am overwhelmed, amazed, blessed and absolutely surprised. I am so very thankful for all of the tools and resources that The Real Estate Apprentice Grant has made assessable to people like myself. It is a miracle, and I am very grateful for an opportunity to use all of these awards.” Priscilla’s Broker/Owner Kathleen Vejtasa, Coldwell Banker Best Realty, said of Priscilla: “Priscilla is someone very special, very sincere and realistic, focusing on her strengths, and able to deliver outstanding listing presentations especially on computer. She knows how to do one thing at a time and is extremely honest concerning herself and others. Priscilla is utterly persistent, disciplining herself, focusing on what needs to be done in order to be successful, and is able to get things accomplished in a relatively short period of time. Her intelligence aids her greatly in her endeavors. I believe that the Real Estate Apprentice Grant Program is a tremendous incentive for people like Priscilla who are bright, on the ball, and willing to eagerly launch their careers. The Grant awards concentrate on building pertinent skill levels, knowledge and performance.”

Robert Ginn Robert Ginn graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. After graduation, he served as an Airborne, Ranger field artillery office and helicopter instructor pilot. He left the Army in 1976 with the Army Commendation Medal and an Honorable Discharge to join IBM. During the next twenty-seven years, Bob held multiple positions with IBM completing his career as a Principal in IBM’s Business Consulting Services. In this position he was responsible for developing and executing a services business strategy for IBM in the areas of Enterprise Resource Planning, Professional Development, Education Industry Consulting, Virtual Schooling and e-business for public schools in the United States. His team of consultants generated in excess of $15 million annual services revenue in the execution of large, complex engagements. Bob retired from IBM in 2004. He and his wife Claudia then took an eight-month missionary sabbatical to the Pacific Islands. Their work with Youth With A Mission gave them the opportunity to lead a team of sixteen individuals representing the United States, Japan, Denmark, Singapore, Malaysia, Korea and Canada to New Zealand for two months to help local churches. Bob and Claudia have returned to the Atlanta area where he has joined Harry Norman, Realtors®. Bob plans to use his knowledge and experience to develop a specialty in helping empty nesters as they “resize” their housing requirements

Joy Jones, Associate Managing Broker of Harry Norman, Realtors® responded to Robert’s good news by saying: “We are very pleased to have Bob with us and are thrilled that he has gone this far in the Apprentice competition. From the minute Bob came to us and interviewed with us, he was very personable and a totally professional man. He fit right in with our office. We were impressed with his qualifications and we felt that Bob could go out and build a business for himself with Harry Norman Realtors®. We also found Bob to a very honest, sincere, and a Christ-like person. He certainly expresses these qualities in his everyday presence and interaction with other agents and with his business clientele. Bob is going to go far and will do well.”

When Bob Ginn got a call from The Real Estate Apprentice Foundation announcing his winning he was quoted as saying: “Becoming a Real Estate Apprentice Finalists is Amazing. I saw the press release that went out with the top 30 and I was astonished that I was even part of that crowd. It is phenomenal when one considers the quality of people that are being attracted into the real estate industry. The Apprentice prizes are overwhelming and what the sponsors have offered is very significant. The awards that are given away to help new people start their career will drive more agents back to use the Sponsors products and services.

Whiteside and Ginn are the 7th and 8th of 10 Grant Finalists that are being announced this week. The final two are being announced on and Friday, and on Wednesday August 31st the Grand Prize Grant Winner will be revealed. Finalists each receive a grant worth $5,000, and the overall winner will receive $75,000 of real estate products and services.
