The Real Estate Apprentice Foundation was created to remove the cost barrier that keeps talented, underrepresented and minority candidates out of a real estate career — funding the licensing, education and start-up costs of becoming an agent or broker.
Foundation activities — including the donation drive and grant-giving — are paused. All 2021 donations were returned to donors.
Why the Foundation exists
Getting licensed costs money before it ever earns any. Coursework, exam and application fees, association dues, and months of unpaid ramp-up add up to a barrier that falls hardest on the people the industry says it wants to attract.

Built on contributions from the real estate community — brokerages, associations, and individuals investing in their own succession.
The Board of Directors of the Real Estate Apprentice Foundation has decided to pause the activities of the Foundation.
The real estate industry, at this time, is distracted with a complicated real estate market and the challenges of the surging Delta variant. Industry associations and companies appear to not currently have sufficient bandwidth or interest to support a major charitable drive at this time; further, with diversity, equity and inclusion often a political hot potato, many people in our industry also appear to be uncomfortable or not ready to participate in a broad-based initiative of this nature.
The Foundation will pause its donation drive and grant-giving activities until 2022/3, at which time the viability of this charitable initiative will be revisited. All donations received in 2021 are being returned to the donors with tremendous gratitude for their support.
